Coherent Diamond CO2 laser source refill and exchange
Laser-Store24 is an independent workshop in Rutesheim, Germany, that refills (regases) Coherent Diamond RF CO2 laser sources from the C, Cx, G, K, E, GEM and J series. A refill costs €490–11,900 net (excl. VAT), depending on model and power, takes 3–7 working days and comes with a 12-month functional warranty on our work. Where a matching source is in stock, a 1:1 exchange is also possible. You receive a fixed quote after measurement, and nothing is done without your approval.

RF laser source or glass tube: what's the difference?
CO2 laser machines use one of two main types of source:
- Glass tube: DC-excited and usually treated as a consumable part.
- RF source: sealed in a metal housing, excited by radio frequency, longer-lasting and designed to be reconditioned.
Inside an RF source such as a Coherent Diamond, the gas mixture (CO2, nitrogen and helium) degrades over time. The laser still fires, but delivers less power. That is exactly what a refill puts right. For background on refilling versus replacing, see our main page on CO2 laser tube refills.
Signs your Coherent laser needs a regas
- You need two passes where one used to be enough.
- Cut edges come out burnt.
- Power fluctuates during a job.
- The laser is hard to start from cold.
Before you send the source off, check the optics and beam alignment: a dirty lens or a misaligned beam can cause the same symptoms. Our laser machine maintenance and repair service can carry out a remote diagnosis first.
How does a Coherent laser refill work?
What happens on your side
- Describe and send: tell us about the source and the fault. We reply within 24 hours (working days).
- Measurement on arrival.
- Fixed-price quote: nothing goes ahead without your approval. If the source cannot be refilled, you are not charged for a refill and we suggest a replacement.
- Refill, second measurement and insured return shipping.

- Incoming test and power measurement

On an RF source, the power supply, driver and cooling are measured before the housing is opened. Tightness is checked under vacuum over several hours, and output power and beam profile are verified before the source goes back to you. Every source comes with a before-and-after measurement report including the electrical parameters.
How much does a Coherent refill cost and how long does it take?
- Price: €490–11,900 net (excl. VAT), depending on model and power, quoted after measurement.
- Saving: 30–50% less than a new source.

1:1 exchange from stock
If a compatible source is in stock, tested and approved, it can be dispatched within 24 hours at the same price as a refill. Your old source comes back to us as part of the exchange. Depending on the model and location, removal, installation, checks, adjustment and alignment are available as options.
Sending your Coherent source from the UK
- A shipment from Germany to the UK is an export, so our invoice carries no German VAT.
- UK import VAT and customs clearance are handled through the courier.
- For a refill or repair, the source can be sent as a temporary export / outward processing for repair. Your customs agent or courier handles the paperwork.
- EU businesses with a valid VAT ID are invoiced without German VAT (reverse charge).

Can a Coherent Diamond laser be regassed?
Yes. The Diamond C, Cx, G, K, E, GEM and J series are on our compatibility list. The diagnosis on arrival confirms the condition of your particular source.
Will the original power be restored?
Power returns to the original level or close to it. The before-and-after report shows the measured value.
What if my source cannot be refilled?
You are not charged for a refill. We will suggest a replacement option instead.
Is Laser-Store24 an authorised Coherent service centre?
No. We are an independent workshop. Our 12-month warranty covers our work and does not replace a manufacturer's warranty.
How long will my machine be out of action?
Allow 3–7 working days in the workshop, plus shipping time. With a 1:1 exchange from stock, the replacement source can be dispatched within 24 hours.
